lyrics

KNEAD

I met the devil at my crossroads
At the intersection of the street
He asked me for my soul
All I wanted was something to eat

Oh lord, give us
What we need
What we need and nothing more
Oh lord, give us what we need

I bought a bottle of Coca Cola
With Santa smiling on the can
And if that can sells more than its should
Some president will be a happy man

Oh lord, give us
What we need
What we need and nothing more
Oh lord, give us what we need

Got a letter in the news today
Saying I won some big cash
But the fine print was so small I could hardly read it
So it landed in the trash

Oh lord, give us what we need
What we need and nothing more
Oh lord, give us what we need

Years later, the original trio reformed with Curtis MacPhee (g, vocals), playing a few shows (and joined by Mays on one occasion!) ... more
